Srinagar, February 02 (KNO) : Condemning house arrest and ‘ill-treatment’ given to Er Rasheed, AIP Spokesman Sheeban Ashie on Saturday said that “by such cheap measures, New Delhi cannot hide its failures and mislead the world community over its atrocities on people of Jammu and Kashmir.” In a statement issued to KNO, AIP Spokesman said that this morning a police party led by SDPO Saddar raided Er Rasheed’s residence and forced him to accompany police station Rajbagh but after Er Rasheed’s denial and heated arguments, police party left his residence and placed him under house detention. “AIP is committed to fight for the rights of people of Jammu & Kashmir and by disallowing peaceful protest on eve of Prime Minister’s visit against looting resources of J&K, Governor Administration has yet again proved that fundamental rights of people of J&K have been snatched and suspended,” he said. Ashie added that “New Delhi has chocked space for all those voices who dare to speak for the people of J&K and talk about human rights atrocities and right to self-determination. It is obvious that New Delhi just wants violence as it has nothing to defend except its brutalities and history of broken promises.” “There is nothing in the hands of civil administration and state is virtually under direct command and control of army, police and other security agencies. While much hype is being given to Prime Minister’s visit but the fact is that entire Kashmir is looking like a battle field and life of jail return militants, pro-resistance leaders and common men is being made a hell,” he said. He added that even the bikes are being seized at various check posts without a reason and the ugly face of state is visible everywhere.(KNO)
